A Township Tale TutorialMade Alternative, New Accessibility Features on Quest

Oculus Quest has released a new update for A Township Tale, which addresses some of the bugs and concerns that were raised following the game`s release.

The tutorial in the game has undergone major change. It`s now an optional feature that is able to be canceled at any moment. The tutorial was unclear and unorganized as I was playing it this week. This change will no doubt be an exciting one for those who are looking to jump right into the deep end. The developers had this to say about the modifications to the tutorial on Quest:

Play Township

We`ve recognized [the tutorialas the main pain point for new players coming to A Township Tale and trying to understand the game. We`ve decided that even If the Tutorial was flawless (which it`s not)the tutorial should be an option. This lets players with various levels of adaptability to start their journeys in the main game`s world when it`s best for their needs. If players fail to find the information they require, they can return to the tutorial section of their Main Menu. We would still suggest doing the TutorialHowever, it is not required.

Learn Township

Jamie discussed the various ways A Township Tale is ambitious and overwhelming when it first launched. We felt that we`d like to have longer to complete our opinion. The in-game explanations of the tasks are “lacking” and the game overall is “fiddly [and] physical.” You can read more about the game here.

The patch also comes with accessibility features, which they felt were needed considering the increase in player numbers after the Quest release. This patch includes the ability to adjust the height of players. Developers say that there will be more ways to use belt docks when the next patch. There have also been changes to the fullness and nutrition systems, as well general bug fixes and improvements.

You can find the complete details of the patch here. Quest players are now able download the patch. These improvements to mechanics are coming to PC VR “in the not too distant future”.
